Circle City Classic XXV will begin a new era of excitement on Saturday, October 4th in the new, state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Stadium when the Alabama A&M University Bulldogs take on the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers for bragging rights in Alabama and arguably all of HBCU college football. Lucas Oil Stadium will seat nearly 65,000 fans and features club lounges, suites, exhibit space and a retractable roof making it possible for the Circle City Classic XXV to potentially be the first played "outdoors."

Alabama A&M University located is Huntsville, Alabama will be making its third appearance in the Circle City Classic. Recent accomplishments under head coach, Anthony Jones include capturing the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) title in 2006 and finishing third overall in 2007. Ini previous Circle City Classic appearances, the Bulldogs lost a hard fought contest in 1989 versus Grambling State in front of over 60,000 fans and defeated Southern in 2002 as current Indianapolis Colts' defensive end, Robert Mathis sacked the Jaguars' quarterback four times to earn the Defensive MVP Award.

The Tuskegee Golden Tigers will be making their first appearance in the Classic as the reigning, undefeated Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and HBCU National Champions. Head coach Willie Slater will lead the Golden Tigers from Tuskegee, Alabama into battle against bitter in-state rivals they have not played in eight years.

In addition to a great football match-up on the field, please be sure to stay in your seats for the Caterpillar Battle of the Bands featuring Alabama A&M's Marching Maroon and White Band versus Tuskegee's Marching Crimson Piper Band.


Tickets for the 25th Anniversary Circle City Classic go on sale through all Ticketmaster outlets and the Lucas Oil Stadium box office in August 2008. The Classic will take place Saturday, October 4th in the Lucas Oil Stadium as part of the American Family Insurance Classic Weekend events.

Classic Organizers, Indiana Black Expo., Inc. (IBE) and Indiana Sports Corporation (ISC), celebrate 25 years of assisting Indiana youth further their education. Proceeds benefit the IBE/Circle City Classic Scholarship Program and support the operations of various family and youth programs conducted by IBE, ISC and the Circle City Classic.
